A boy I'd like to know better

Kenton, my nephew. :)

His parents are divorced.

I still love them.

The story's not over yet.

I believe God will do the impossible.

Bring it on!

PS: Just for fun, here's a picture of baby Chris:

Kenton

Can you believe it? As of 12:25 MST, October 29, 2012, my brother is a dad! Kenton weighed in at 7 pounds even and 20 inches long. He has a bit of light brown hair. Good job, Hannah!

 Chris & Kenton

I love the fact that he was born on the 29th - if you've ever heard Eric Ludy talk about Job 29 you know why. What I am even more excited about it that he did not come early as some had feared... praise God. The name Kenton means "royal town" or "royal possession", and as far as I'm concerned he belongs to the King from the very get-go. Please continue to pray for Chris and Hannah. The enemy still wants to speak defeat over their lives and marriage, but as saints we can stand in the gap with victorious faith in our Almighty God.

Loss

Today it rained most drearily. And although we have all been hoping for snow - especially for the sake of my sister-in-law Hannah, visiting from Arizona - the rain seemed appropriate.

We got the news this morning that a man from our church died from a heart attack. Please be in prayer for his wife - now widow - and his two daughters, a sensitive 11 year old and a rambunctious 4 year old. Pray also for us a church family, that we can be the Body of Christ to them. Thank you.

If the Lord wills...

Maybe you would be interested to know that my brother Chris is getting married on Monday? Hannah Joy is to be my very first sister-in-law. We are all flying down to Arizona on Saturday. Of course...
"If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."- James 4:15

May His will be done! Thank you for your prayers!

Prayer Request

I know this is kind of short notice, but if anyone reading could please pray for our pastor and his family. On Friday Pastor Cal was having chest pains and went to the hospital. Turns out he had a few heart attacks. One of his major arteries is completely blocked, and the others are 80% so. (No wonder he was getting tired easily.) Tomorrow (Monday) he is scheduled to have quadruple-bypass surgery. Please pray:
  1. That God would heal; that the surgery would be successful; that there would be no complications; and that his recovery would be accelerated.
  2. For his and his family's faith, peace, and joy in God; that they would trust that God and His Word more than Experience; that they would know Jesus' presence deeper and sweeter than ever before.
  3. That we as a church would be able to support them; that no breaches would happen or distractions prevail, especially right now at Easter time.
  4. For me - I'll be babysitting their grandkids tomorrow; pray that I can be sensitive and helpful.
Thank you so much! ~*~

School: a prayer request.

For all my loyal readers out there: I have a prayer request. I need Help keeping up with my schoolwork. I knew this year would be one where I learned how to work, and hopefully grow past the indiligence that I've been plagued with for years. But I'm not "arrived" yet. I started the school year promisingly enough, but now I am falling behind in varying degrees (depending on the subject). An uncomfortably-wrapped blessing has been that my parents have done some deadline and grading reforms, that is, they are enforcing more consequences if we do not finish the week's school on time. That helps me, because I am not naturally internally motivated. But punishments are punishments, and the one that hits where it hurts is the newest: No square dance class unless school is done. So last week I didn't go, and I won't be able to this week either, barring a less-than-deserved-miracle. Short-term goal: I want to stop the trend and go next week. Longer-term goal: I want to be able to stay caught up! Please pray!
